[ sometime in the middle of whatever varric is working on, his shellphone will ding with a new message from one cynical private investigator. ]
Got a minute to talk? I've got coffee and a mug of ale from a local tavern back at my apartment.
[ the timing is probably a few hours after the mystery invitations appeared, but he can probably guess as to the cause of her sudden contact. she imagines he's just as concerned about this as she is. ]
[ And he will be. He hadn't been far away in the first place, so when the knock comes on her door a short while later, hopefully she won't be surprised by his promptness. ]
[ she is not at all surprised and is, if she's honest, grateful for his promptness. it means she isn't sitting there waiting longer than necessary. when she pulls open the door, there's a look of relief mixed with a bit of gratitude that he's here and she steps back to let him in, closing the door behind him.
her apartment here is small, probably a little bigger than the one she had in minrathous, but similar layout. she doesn't need much. enough space for a few guests on a couch, a bed in another room, and a small one-person kitchen area. nothing exciting, but it works for her.
the coffee pot is on the kitchen counter and it is, in fact, actual decent coffee. nothing she made, so he's definitely safe. she motions towards the living area if he'd like a place to sit or the bar stools by the kitchen counter. she goes for the coffee, pouring them both a cup. ]
So I take it you've seen those strange invitations by now. No obvious deliverer, but placed near enough that we'd all see them. [ hers is on the counter by the coffee. she nods to it on the off chance that he didn't receive one or simply hasn't found his yet and then hands his coffee over. ] I've been trying to find out who else is going and wanted to hear your thoughts while I'm at it. I don't trust it for a second.
